The Moog 921 had variable position "waveform clamping", which looks like the same sort of thing.

Moog Modular Service manual has the basic 921/921B board schematic, but there appears to have been a
small sub-board in the 921 which has some of the clamping circuitry.  Can't see that in the manual.
