I think the problem is that the AH list is comprised of people who
have absolutely no idea what it takes to design, manufacture, and
market a musical instrument in the modern age. I would like to see
any one of those experts attempt to market, oh, anything. Indeed,
besides myself, there are maybe one or two others who have ever
worked in product development for a major manufacturer, and a dozen
or less who work for (or are) minor manufacturers -- and none of us
are the ones complaining about the new Moog -- the complaints are all
from the armchair engineers. Hell, the list doesn't even have more
than a half dozen (if that many) professional musicians on it (that
is, people actually who make their living from the playing or making
of music). It's certainly not a place to go when looking for
professional advice, unless you need advice as to which TR-808 serial
numbers are better. It is a clubhouse for poorly informed,
historically unaware, yet strangely self-satisfied dilettante comic
book store guys with collecting fetishes and really bad taste in music.
Other than that, AH is super great!
