i used LM4250, too. that's what marc bareille himself stated in response 
on my enquiry:

"You should try UA776 if you find some ... Not they sound better , but you 
will get a better control range and less artefacts at extreme 
frequencies/Q settings. Anyway i am happy you enjoy the sound of this 
unique filter :), that the resonnance control would be better using 
UA776."

and yes, i agree with jeff, it sounds wonderful. i like it very much and 
it has a lot of character.

I used the LM4250 instead (actually, the NJM brand, Mouser part number 
513-NJM4250D). Only 34 cents each! But don't forget to change R10 and R11 
to 
1.2meg or more.

This is a woderfully filthy filter, BTW. I've got 2 of them in my modular 
(http://www.guitarfool.com/synthesizer.html).
