...which reminds me of another story:
A man is shipwrecked on an unknown island.
He asks one of the natives what the meaning is of the drumming that he
hears continuously in the distance. The native replies:
"When drums stop, very bad."
He continues to explore the island for several days, and every time he asks
someone what those drums are about, he gets the same reply:
"When drums stop, very bad."
Finally, after many days, the drumming stops. He nervously asks what this
means, and his informant replies:
"Very bad -- now, bass solo."
("THANK- you! You're a great audience! Enjoy the buffet, I'm here all week.
THANK- you!......")
