[sdiy] Reducing Hum

I've built a few stomp box circuits into a common wood enclosure with a
common 9v power supply. Everything works, but one of the circuits has some
nasty hum at the output.. all the others work just fine. The one giving me
trouble is the EA tremolo circuit found here:
http://www.runoffgroove.com/eatremolo.html

It works just fine off a 9v battery, but it hums powered off the supply.
I've tried moving it as far away as possible from the power supply and
grounding the metal face plate, but I'm out of ideas. Is there anything I
can do to reduce or remove the hum? Could the problem be that the case is
wood and doesn't shield? This is the only thing keeping me from finishing
my project and I just can't figure it out.

Regards,
Jimmy
