I'll have to post here what I posted on another board regarding Behringer,
as they are not just a cheesy company using other people's designs or only
for those buying the cheapest thing they can find.

Behringer has some products with functionalily that nobody else has. Just
try to find a raised cosine truecurve EQ anywhere (well Rane has one for
about $1000 but never seen it in a catalog). Behringer's out-specs any other
piece of gear I own in its variety and depth of I/O connections. When I
wanted a high bandcount parametric EQ, Behringer had one with 24 bands,
nobody else did. I just picked up their Virtualizer Pro since it was only
$90 on sale. It does many times more than just about any other effects
device on the market.  In fact it has almost their entire Modulizer Pro
effects device thrown in.  So they have their place even for those who
aren't just buying based on price.
