There was a guy selling commercial equipment ( forklift etc ) accelerator
pedals on Ebay.  Big heavy aluminum things with a pot for position sensing
and he was selling'em cheap.

Wah and volume pedals use a straight gear with a round gear on the pot.  If 
you're using it for VC you could just buy a volume pedal.  I dont think they 
turn the pot full range of course so you'd need to use it where you could 
offset and scale the output.
