I have successfully soldered a few of MSP430F169 (64 pin QFP, 0.5mm pitch)
packages. You will get solder bridges between the pins which you can
easily clean
up with solder-wick. With a very fine tip, a lot of practice and a steady hand
you could probably do this size without bridging.
If you are going to do a lot of these devices you may want to get a
solder-screen
and either a toaster oven or a skillet. There are couple of application notes
