is it "ARP Style Quantizer by Chris List" ???

You should be able to substitute ~any~ similar parallel input DAC.

You can make a major gain in performance by taking the output of the 
comparator
(opamp) that feeds the LF398... and run it into a D Flip-flop. Clock the 
flip-flop
from the counter clock. This way... the data has 1/2 clock time to 
settle before you latch it
into the S/H
