He he, yes:  "Bob hates SPICE"

I don't know if he still does, or how much influence he has at National
these days.
His comments on Spice in "Troubleshooting" are very outdated. All he writes
about Spice
(and about Saber, which he favoured), has been very true ... some 15 years
ago.
I started working in the electronics industry simlating with Saber, and
modeling with MAST.
At that time Spice models were horrible indeed. Today it's remarkable what
information
you can get out of good Spice models. There's still a lot of lousy models
around, too, of course.

Thanks - I'll do the simulations with other transitor models then, and allow
for fine tuning
in the circuit. I can get 95% of the information just using BC550C's, or
MAT-02 or
SSM2210 models. Getting, say, 97% or 98% with a dedicated 394 model would
have
been nice. No more, no less.
