Dino,
Personally, I'd avoid using any type connector that could be confused with
some other function. DIN, VGA, and D-Sub all fall into this category.
My favorite for DC power is AMP CPC "Circular Plastic Connector".
Inexpensive and easy to fool with. I get mine from Mouser

should get you started if you are interested in this option. Read up on the
different series they have, some are large, some are smaller.

Subject: [sdiy] connectors for power distribution
Hi all,
I'm trying to find a suitable connector for power distribution
between diy modules (19" boxes). I'm thinking of having a single,
good, +/-15V power supply (powerone) and then route power to the
different modules (instead of each project having its own crummy
wallwart).
Problem is, I can't quite figure out what would be the best
solution... for practical purposes (read: drilling), a circular
connector would be good, DIN connector, 5- or 6-pin? Using plain
MIDI connectors would be easy (could use MIDI cables for routing
power), but it seems that scenario is very dangerous....
Any suggestions for a good solution? Maybe abuse some D-sub 9pin or
VGA connectors?
Best,
Dino
