Fair enough!
But, my idea with the wire brush was to
rip the silver off & then solder it.
It sounds pretty bad all round... if you
only get a guaranteed 12 months AFTER plating 
with a 'thin & porous' silver layer & ALSO 
keeping in a non-PVC plastic bag, what
would happen if it was left unprotected??
Maybe we'll have to store them under 
paraffin, like you do lumps of soduim metal ;D
I was just thinking about putting them in the 
freezer, but then I remembered that tin behaves 
VERY strangely in cold conditions!
