Some good info and discussion about lead free PCBs here ..
http://eurocircuits.info/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=41
Euro Circuits (the cheapest small run PCB manufacturer I know of in
Europe) are using Electroless Ag deposit for their boards which
apparently has a shelf life of 12 months (not so good!)
PCB Pool (the other PCB manufacturer I use) are using lead free HAL with
SN100C solder. I think this is meant to have a longer shelf life, but I
can't find any specific information about this.
By the way, anyone in Europe know of any other manufacturers for
prototype/small run PCBs?
And, anyone who is making small run SDIY PCBs to sell, what lead free
finish are you using to get a decent shelf life?
Seb
P.S. I really hope not to start the whole RoHS discussion again, I'm
just looking for practical ways to co-exist with it :)
