I would not say they are purely digital.

In the Juno 6/60, each oscillator uses a programmable counter to make
pulses that reset a sawtooth ramp. The steepness of the ramp is voltage
controlled using a single antilog amplifier that is multiplexed to each
oscillator. The antilog amplifier does not have to be very precise;
deviations only result in a slight amplitude error since the frequency
is determined digitally.

This way you get a real, clean sawtooth which IMO sounds much better
than a stairstepped one. It also makes proper (non-quantized) PWM possible.
