  wrong answer. It will require a BIGGER battery. The increase in the
  electronic content has driven the POWER requirements up, so that
  the existing 12V systme can't deliver the power without using 4/0
  cables.  They need higher voltages, and maybe slightly reduced..
  current. Its not equal.

Although 4x number of cells means 4x the chance of a cell failing thus much
shorter life.

Car batteries.  The materials of which are approaching 100% recycled as it
is.  
And they're talking about switching away from 12V to a 42V (?) system?  
That's going to need a lot more battery for each car...
