If you have the room for a 1206, you'd be better off using one.
The single body will dissipate MUCH more power than the four
smaller elements.
Usual rule of thumb... running a resistor at more that 1/2
the rated power will burn your thumb :^P
(It really depends on how hot you can stand to let the part get)
I did not see complete specs on that data sheet, btw. Designed for
termination as it is, I'm sure they did not expect that anyone would
be pushing the power rating.
