you can *always* substitute a higher voltage cap.
When replacing older caps with new, use a 105C rated (as opposed to 85C rated) part
with low ESR/"low impedance". The cost is about the same, but it will perform and last much longer.

Hi ive got a oberheim xpander in frunt of me that c9 on the power supply is busted
its a 1000uf 10v would it be safe to put a 1000uf 16v in its place or is it best to wait and get a 10v cap on monday ?
