For continous (audio and CV) signals, slide switches can be better since
they clean themselves of oxides when used. Toggles more easily develop a
diode action of oxides that effect the voltage. This does not apply to
gold plated contact elements, but often they are silver. 

At my supplier, slide switches are like $0.5 and toggles $5. So
economically, the choise is very easy.

Toggles can come lose and spin around in their little round hole. I
really hate that. 

Slides look better too in IMO. Toggles can be difficult to read in some
circumstances.
