   Hi Chris,

My business has used these for years and I've encountered about every
conceivable problem known to man. Basically though, there's one major
and single most significant problem with these:

   The pencil cable.

The irons have a very poor strain relief (black plastic extension off
the backend of the pencil. The cable tends to bend sharply here (or at
the other end) and ends up breaking one of the wires inside.
If you turned it on and heard the clicking of the magnetic heating
element in the pencil, then that means its working. But if you move
the pencil around, and it stops clicking, then I can almost guarantee
that the cable needs to be replaced.
You can get replacement cables for not a whole lot and I highly
recommend anyone who owns one of these irons to get one. Because it's
only a matter of time!
Otherwise, they are great workhorses and I like them a lot.

   Cheers,

   Tony
