okay, so boasting aside on the "I had less than you to do my electronics"
subject,

I used cardboard as my PCB, with wiring running the trace locations, and I
soldered using a 1" x 1/4" copper iron that I heated on the stove. Parts
were all salvaged from dead transistor radios and old TVs.
