[sdiy] Rosin flux - remove or not?

I remove the flux by scratching it off with
a (not too sharp) scratch awl after it becomes
solid (when cold).
It flakes off easily. Then I dry brush the board
with a stiff nylon brush.
I don't use flux remover except in real critical
parts like S/H or Expo converter, VCO core etc.
Works fine and never had troubles
