To a large extent I think it's a matter of style and discipline when 
laying things out on the breadboard. Ian has oodles of experience so I'm 
guessing he's quite good in that department.

Biggest problem I see in lab is students accidentally shorting resistor 
leads together... some students are much better and preventing this in 
their breadboarding than others.
