PD is awesome.
I recently came across Reaktor after winning atlanta's laptop battle.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PROGRAM:
VAZ Modular
This is the product that single-handedly taught me modular synthesis
concepts when I had no access to anything remotely analog.
Fantastic implementation of modular concepts, all the way down to
CV/MIDI interface, required for any usable synth patch.

What is music?
Music is a rich, hyper-dimensional language allowing for high
bandwidth communication of highly abstract concepts and images. Music
is the name for the interaction of the vibrations in the physical
world with the metaphysical emotional center of the human soul. Music
is an expression of consciousness, a path, a doorway.
