Um, yeah. Max/MSP and Reaktor - they're just so limited and no one does
anything interesting with them...
It's sort of depressing how little people on this list seem aware of what's
happening in those parts of the digital world. Downloading some of the
patches made for both of these has literally been a 'no one could have
dreamed of this 20 years ago' kind of experience for me.
Watching someone set up a laptop next to a grand piano and make it jam
along by analysing the sound in real time, responding to it in different
ways and throwing the sound around a multi-speaker PA - that's where we are
today. VST softsynths are just a footnote.
