I've had good results using 500mA 15VAC wall warts to give +/-15VDC. It
works as long as you don't draw too much current (e.g. 200mA max). Of
course it varies from wall wart to wall wart.
But you can also get 18VAC wall warts pretty easily - then you're
certain to get +/-15VDC from your linear reg. (and it helps keep your
studio warm in the winter :)
