[sdiy] Digging into Eagle, resistor package sizes, etc.

Aaron,

I can also recommend Eagle. Creating new parts in the library editor
can be difficult to learn, but if you've ever used another schematic
capture program, the general concepts are similar. Remember to put
things on the right layers and you're golden. Also, EAGLE's PCB
autorouter is pretty crappy.

I have committed to memory the ones I use most often, but you could
also do as ASSI suggests and copy those parts over to your own library
with names you recognize. There's only a handful you need to know,
though, and using the search box (liberally applying *) it's not hard
to isolate the parts you need.

As I do the V8 schematics I'm creating symbols/parts for the CEM/SSM
chips; does anyone have an interest in having a copy of my library
once it's done?
