Most sysex librarians just strip off the headers and store the plain
data from the sysex. DX7 sysex has multiple messages for one patch for
some versions IIRC, so there probably is some structure in the library
to accomodate that (unless it is for the original DX7 only). Also, the
patch name should be mostly plain ASCII and easy to spot in a HEX
editor.
If these aren't your own sounds it's probably easier to just get hold of
the original bank files, there's a ton of DX7/TX7 patches for download.
When I got my FS1R I downloaded all DX7 pathces I could find and even
after removing many obvious doublettes I got 26257 patches or a little
over 820 banks full. There's likely some less obvious doublettes of
patches that have differences only in the name and such things, but I
haven't got around to writing a program yet that would take care of
that.
