[sdiy] Boss/Roland Dimension C/D differences

I have never experienced a high-pitched squealing with mine (or ever read an account of it on other production models) - it's exceedingly quiet with no input, and with input, no squealing. Even when listening closely. You can hear samples other than mine at Modezero, not the same as 'live' I'm sure, but I'd think any squealing would show up on them, too.

My BBD's were on separate boards altogether. I used coaxial cable (shield grounded on one side) to run the compressed signal to each mini-delay board. Each delay board contained the BBD's, clocks, and pre and post BBD filters, then another coax jumped the delayed, filtered signal back to the expander on the main board.

Without compansion, I'd say all bets were off. I've never heard of an uncompanded version out there.

Cheers,
Scott
