According to the Boss Book, the Dim C's problem was that the
two BBD circuits had to be in close proximity, and the two
clock circuits creating a "sqealing" noise. This has been solved
with a compander circuit. (paraphrasing)
But ... the Dim D also has a compander circuit.
Maybe it's cleaner, overall.
Now, it would be interesting if the Dim Cs really have high
pitched noise, if you listen closely.
(I haven't - I neither have a C nor D, just a clone.)
