in my experiments, I lost pretty much all of the bass. My tube was around 3/4"

and ribbed - the ribbing sounded great when you were handling the tube, but
it didn't do much if anything (other than attenuate?) sound that passed down
its length. Length of pipe needed to be at least 20 meters (60 feet) to be
worth the effort.
