[sdiy] old flux meter

Hello everyone,
I have yet another question for the electronic pros out there. I have
come across an old magnetic flux meter at school that will hopefully be
helpful to me in a current musical project. It looks to be quite old
(fifties or so, I would guess). It's in a case that opens up to show a
large meter that gives measurements in Teslas, a rotary scaling switch,
and a couple of wire terminals just marked + and -.
The big question is what should I attach to those two terminals. My
best guess is that is would be some sort of inductor or loops of wire
that I would place in the magnetic field perpendicular to the direction
of the flow of the flux, but even if that's right I don't know how many
turns of wire to use or what diameter of a loop, etc. I didn't see
anything in the EE lab closet that looked like it was to be used with
this meter. Has anyone on the list used such a meter or know what I
should connect to it to be able to take measurements?
Thanks,
Richard
