[sdiy] 8038ccpd?

This is a reoccuring quistion on this list. It has been done, it can be done
(Thomas Henry's site) but basically there are a hell of a lot better ways to
do it. The 8038 is far from ideal, and a lot of circuitry is required to
"convince" it to behave. You might as well build a well behaved circuit in
the first place.
