I tried that S-Trigger schematic, but what I did was probably the silly
way to go about it. I think I put the transistor and the 4016 on a
breadboard, and just ran the final two wires which it switched between
to the pads.
Also, as for voltage- the trigger circuit, 4016, and S-trigger
transistor were on my breadboards usual power of +/- 15v. So the +5v
trigger was going to the 4016, which was running between 0 and +15. One
thing that baffled me was that I tested the output by connecting the
two switching wires to another triggering circuit, and it's LED was
blinking as the switched closed. Maybe the comparator was more
sensitive than the DR110. I really don't know.
I noticed that the timing of the pulses from the CPU are set in certain
ways. Especially the handclap, which is fired with three pulses. Do you
notice any particular difference in playin the drum sounds directly,
versus via the CPU? I thought I'd need to install both the CPU board
and the voicing boards in the 707, which would obviously be twice as
much work. If I don't need to, I won't.
Just putting a transistor directly ony the switch pad is far simpler
than what i was trying to do! Put a 5v trigger through the third leg
and it should go off? I look forward to trying it tomorrow morning!
Did you send an attatchment with your post? All I got was a few lines
of text, explaining that the attatchment was "virus free".
Thanks much for relating this experience!
