Once I asked for it too.
But I got convinced that having all emails separately, helps keeping
this list healthy.
A digest might seem like a neat idea for reading. But it isn't.
Even worst: it makes replying difficult. Subject fields would get poisoned
with lines like: "Re: [sdiy] digest 731 ".
There's another odd behaviour, and that is that this list by default
replies to sender rather then to list.
This too is keeping the list healthy.
From time to time these two subjects come up. You will start to like
the way this list works.
If you want more readability, you can check out the mozilla Thunderbird
mail application.
It can group all the discussion threads into a single line, and sort
these threads by date.
It's much like newsreader apps do.
In fact, it's the first mail client I came across that has this feature.
(I've been on the lookout
for that feature for years)
It runs on win,linux, and osx.and it is free.
