If you can be satisfied for non-DIY, the Evolution U-16 has 16 knobs, and
generates MIDI out. Each knob can be assigned to any channel and any CC
assignment. The assignments can be saved to memory locations (25 I think).
Non-DIY price $69.95. :)
I have one I plan to do some hacking on. It looks like a fairly straight
forward modification to turn this into a CV to MIDI CC device. :)

Subject: [sdiy] Midi continious controller gennerators / controler surfaces?
Hi there,
Now ive had my eye one some sort of control interface, primarily to generate
continuous controllers, for some time. Something along the lines of
doepfer's drehbank, or the various kenton offerings.
Ive had a brief look about, but haven't been able to find a diy alternative.
Im looking for something that's in a reasonable state of maturity, possibly
where i can download some files and program a PIC or whatever. Now im
surprised i haven't found anything....
Additionally...
Midi lfos etc. Just small standalone devices thatll throw out an lfo on [x]
channel, [y] cc# or something like that?
Any comments?
Cheers, Julian
