The variac is your friend! ;-)=
Since I "surplused" the old wife and installed the newer updated soft-gating
model, I do most of my electronic work in the living room instead of the
basement. :-) The new wife has gotten to the point where she doesn't even
flinch or take any real notice anymore when there are sudden loud bangs and
clouds of thick, black smoke!
