Peasant's DIY amp (was: Re: [sdiy] I finally did some SDIY this weekend)

Now that takes guts!  It's one thing to mess around with +/- 15V stuff,
and another entirely to mess around with power amps. My wife made me
promise I'd learn more about electronics before building my next amp (I
guess she values my life more than my life insurance policy--now there's
some successful wife gating), and here I am about a year later still
working on itty-bitty VC filters....laughing at careless mistakes as my
last TL084 of the day goes up in smoke.

As we used to say in the rock and roll biz: An amp sounds best right
before it explodes.
