Depends on your eyes and how precise you want to take off readings. I 
would want a flat and rectangular tube, however.

For adding traces, the books are full of circuits to chop from 2 to 8 
audio signals into a single scope input. As long as the amplitudes of 
the various signals aren't too different, there aren't any unusual 
difficulties.

You mean like checking Trigger, Gate and three envelopes for their 
relative timing? I think yes, you'd want to do that. :-)
