just wondering if anyone is familiar with the innerworkings of the SCI
Split-8, and how the processor[s] handle the CEM3394s... if one or two are
missing?

i know that in unison mode low note takes priority, but i have not seen any
information on other modes... in eight voice mode, does it cycle through the
CEMs by order of note pressed [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8] , and if so, does it
reset the order if the note[s] are released [ie. plays osc1,2,3, then stop,
play and it does osc 1,2,3 again]? would it work similarly with the 4/4
layers [1/5, 2/6, 3/7, 4/8 or whatever]?

this relates back to Harry Bissell planning out his matrix/guitar synth,
except instead of bypassing the CEMs [while these are 3394s, not 3396], i
would only be removing a few...

i know that the Split-8 has a tune/calibration button, but would the Split-8
go into shock and try to auto-tune the chips on startup or anything like
that?

or would it just not play the chip when they should be played
[1,2,3,4,5,6,X,X or 1/5, 2/6, 3/X, 4/X] as if it was dead?

- nate... a glutton for punishment... but not if you consider that going by
the WineCountry price, i could sell the 3394s for more than i'm buying the
synth :P
