[sdiy] Mail woes

Hi all!

Sorry to do this, but I've tried Rick Jansen three times now and recieved no
reply; I used the email adrress he posts to the list with, but I assume my
email can't get through directly to him and is being discarded by an
overly-zealous spam filter or somesuch on his end (it doesn't bounce). In
the old days I would have just faked a sendmail from my old address, but
given the paranoid aura of security around my work environment I'm not
comfortable with such shenanagins anymore: faking origin addresses is a
"fireable" offense nowadays. I've asked this before on the list, and I hate
to do so again, but this is getting pretty ridiculous and I have no other
avenue to explore. Here's the contents of the message I'm trying to pass to
Rick:

Hi!

I have a problem; the government changed my email address without notifying
me in advance (nice of them, eh?). They forward mail from my old to my new
address, so I recieve mail from the SDIY list fine, but I can't post. Could
you please help me delete my OLD subscription?

My OLD subscribed address is:
shokwave at nbnet.nb.ca
I want to delete it.

My current valid subscribed address is actually:
shokwave at nb.aibn.com
I want to keep that one.

I can't do this myself, as you can only unsubscribe an address by sending
mail FROM that address, and I've written twice before to your address as
given on the mailing list webpage, but recieved no answer. Are my mailings
getting through? (Hehe...you won't be able to answer that if not, eh?) In
desperation, I even wrote to the list about this...but everyone just said
that only you can help out :/

Sorry to bother you! Currently I recieve every mail twice, which is annoying
and a waste of bandwidth, but even worse would be if they eventaully
shutdown my old address totally and start bouncing everything back to you;
I'd rather not be the cause of that sort of mischief.

-Darren
