[sdiy] Spouse Gating

i finally convinced my wife to sing during our live shows. she uses the nord
modular's vocoder:
http://www.xs4all.nl/%7Erude66/live/stubnitz/pages/rude%2066%20live%20stubni
tz%20amsterdam%20000.htm and sings on the records as well.
there are women/girls with similar interests out there. my wife loves the
look of old synths and test gear, and she's a bit of a car nut. i know
several others that build music installations, do circuit bending or build
their own instruments. i know several female dj's who are into working with
analogue sound and producing in general.
i don't think i'd ever get rid of my synths or records. actually i feel it's
very unreasonable to ask someone to give up his or her hobby if you see that
they obviously care about it, or diss it as 'stupid' or 'dumb' or 'toys'.
that'd be a first warning sign for me.. in the end it isn't even all about
compromising, but about giving each other space to do your own thing as
well, and taking an interest in each other's ehm.. interests.

r./
(enough life lessons for now..)
