[sdiy] Spouse Gating

Doing something that shows that your electronics skills are actually useful once
in awhile is a big plus.  For instance, I was planning on putting a switch on
the smoke alarm because it goes off every time we cook, and removing the
batteries requires getting a step ladder, taking the thing down, ...

My fiancee has used my soldering iron for art projects a few times as well.
