[sdiy] Recommendations for VCO circuits

I hope this doesn't open a never-ending argument, but I'd like some
suggestions for the best VCO circuits to build. I want to make a list of
circuits to consider, and I have no experience with which ones work better,
etc.

To qualify for the list, they should be reasonably simple, and not use any
unobtanium components. They should be fairly stable, have a good range
(although they don't have to function as LFOs), and the schematics have to
available for free download on the internet. I'm looking for excellent
examples of saw-core, triangle-core, quadrature output, PWM, sine, and any
other classic waveform and configuration you can think of. I'd eventually
like to build one of each basic style, and I don't want to waste too much
time with the circuits that don't perform quite so well. So, please steer
me to the better designs.

So any suggestions for this "Who's Who" of VCO circuits I want to compile?

thanks,
Glen
