[sdiy] buffering outputs and routing signals (SEM modular related)

Hello girls and boys...

Recently, I got my greedy hands on 2 Oberheim SEM cards. I'm now in the
proces of getting these beauty's racked (SE Obie Rack style) and adding
a second panel with all the modular stuff they're capable of...

I still have to decide if I'm going banana's or just jacks. Part of that
decision is dependant on my capability of buffering the ouputs. I'm
quite a noob, electronically speaking, and I'm wondering if you guys
(and girls too) can help me out with (SIMPLE!) solutions to buffer the
outputs of both SEM's and also some other kits I'm planning on building
into the goodie panel. I don't want to blow shit up when I'm patching
outputs into multiple destinations...

Another thing I'm thinking about is to group a couple of inputs, which
are routable at the destination with a simple rotary stepswitch... Let's
say I'd use 12 inputs and a 12-step switch at VCO's, filter, VCA and so
on... This would keep the panel as free of patch clutter as possible and
make patching fast and easy. Any ideas how to handle this? I guess the
inputs need buffering also when I want to be able to route 1 input to
multiple destinations... And what would be the easiest or best way to
make these connections?

Please, keep in mind that I don't speak the lingo!

Thanks in advance...

Cheers!
Nico
