thanks for nice comments everyone, and ideas to think about for the next 
version!

shortening the minimum delay would be nice deffinently but I think it 
still should be able to work as an echo.  with long delays the problem 
is bandwidth. that is what I didn't like about the PT2395. so maybe more 
ram could be used easily but you'd still have to have some switch to 
change the range back to short mode (the switch I have now switches from 
64K to 256K). bandwidth isn't really a problem if all you want is those 
tiny delays but my goal is to have some universal delay circuit that can 
easily do long or short.  I'm thinking I should forget about the PT2395 
in future versions and try and do this from scratch.
