I have never opened one of these babies up, but I do have a good clue for you!
If you go to Tektronix website, you can get registered to their manual archive
and download the service manual to many things, and the 2246 should be in
there. It may not contain schematics, but the basic stuff of things to check,
how to open it etc. should be there. Also, if the product is not in active
support, you may toss the PDFs onto whatever website you like, they allow you
too, only produts being supported are restricted.
So, steer your attention in that direction and fire away!
