Not true.  Synth. circuitry using devices from well before 1977 seems
to be appropriate as well. :-) ...vacuum tube technology, for example,
which has never truly become obsolete despite the many people who
believe that it has.  Anyway, all of that's much more fun than boring
and overly complex DSP circuitry or software synthesis.

Some of us are still living in the analog days when doing so is
practical, and for good reason; analog synthesis and circuitry works
out very well for many people.  If it does what one wants it to do,
why change to DSP, etc.?  There's really no need for anyone to change
with the times if they don't want to.  BTW, I still drive 30+ year old
cars.
