[sdiy] Another new hard to find part....

AMEN BROTHER.

I'm already a computer nerd. These projects require a collaborative effort to
happen correctly. Which is probably why there is no open source DIY softsynth.
You need an OS specialist to fix Linux for true realtime. You need a driver
specialist to enhance the video and sound card drivers for softsynths and you
need several application specialists, hopefully some people who know something
about electronic music to develop applications that are at least usable. There
is such a spectrum of needs and for each area, large experience, education and
_desire_ are required. I'm a smart guy, but I realized long ago that I can't
write all programs. I can't develop drivers for example. And as far as
collaborative efforts go, that can easily and quickly turn into either a tower
of Babel, or an endless argument over the best way to do things.

One thing about SDIY is that I can do these things myself. And then I can use
them to make music.
