But why would want to emulate the 6R when there are so many more
interesting techniques and ideas you could be exploring?
And if you code a softsynth on a standard PC/Mac, planned obsolescence is
much less of an issue.
It's possible some of you guys haven't been keeping up with the softsynth
world recently. But when I can patch together a custom 32 step sequencer,
with logic functions, MIDI and/or LFO sync, and assorted interesting
modulation possibilities in an evening in Reaktor, and then load it as a
preset, complete with my favourite sequences, why would I want to spend
three months designing and building a hardware equivalent?
There comes a point where having pretty lights and rows of knobs just isn't
enough any more. ;-)
