[sdiy] question: a simple blend circuit?

I t may or may not work that easy... Piezos are usually quite high
impedance and don't
take well to much loading. In particular, they are inherently capacitors
(small, maybe .01uF
or so) so using a resistor forms a built in hipass filter.

The piezo should probably be buffered first, simple transistor or fet
should do, then the
pot blend trick WILL work.

You can arrange the battery so that the circuit is powered when the
guitar (mono) cable is
inserted just like in the pedals...
